In my world the sun shines bright,
Crowds of people full of color and light,
surround me and I am everything, but alone.
The world turns on time as expected,
Twenty-four hours at a time collected,
and saved, another penny in a piggy bank.
In my heaven, there is no sun to burn me,
just the moon, the wind, and a baobab tree.
The earth is hot and dry beneath my feet,
Sand slips through my toes as the heat,
rises through my body, bottom to top.
I look up to the sky and watch it leave me,
a puff of smoke and transcendent energy,
Farewell the genie in the bottle.
I go to my heaven,
black and white and raining,
underneath the baobab tree.
